Check out Cancer.Net, The American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Patient Information Website!
The best cancer care starts with the best cancer information! The internet is full of information and advice about dealing with cancer, but not all of it comes from reliable sources. One website we recently discovered, that fits this criterion of reliability, is Cancer.Net, the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) patient information website, which provides timely, oncologist-approved information to help patients and their families make informed health care decisions. All content on this website is subject to a formal peer-review process by the Cancer.Net editorial board, which is composed of more than 150 medical, surgical, radiation, and pediatric oncologists, physician assistants, oncology nurses, social workers, and patient advocates. In addition, ASCO editorial staff reviews the content for easy readability, which is helpful for those of us who do not have a medical background. ASCO believes, as we do, that well-informed patients are their own best advocates and invaluable partners for physicians. We encourage you to take a few minutes and check out this website’s valuable resources!
